Discovery of genetic translocation may lead to targeted tumor treatment

Thirty years ago, Sharon Weiss, MD, was the first to describe a rare tumor known as an epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE). Researchers have just recently identified a genetic alteration linked to EHEs. It’s hoped this newfound information may lead to a better understanding of the mechanisms behind EHEs and perhaps the development of a targeted treatment.
