Associate Dean, Emory School of Medicine
Phil Hills is Vice President for Development, Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center and Associate Dean, Emory
School of Medicine. As Emory's chief development officer in health sciences, Mr. Hills is responsible for all areas of development/fundraising, alumni relations, and relations with individual donors, foundations, and corporations involved in philanthropic support of the Woodruff
Health Sciences Center.
Mr. Hills joined Emory in 1999 as Senior Director of Development for the School of Medicine and assumed his current role in June 2002. Prior to joining Emory, Mr. Hills was the Director of Development and Alumni Affairs at the University of Florida Warrington College of Business, where he was instrumental in planning and implementing the College's $70 million capital campaign. He previously served as Associate Director of Development and then Director of Major Gifts at the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management during the School's $20 million campaign - directing annual giving then major gifts efforts for the School. He also has served as Executive Director of the National Alumni Association at The University of Tampa. He is currently South Regional Chair for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Institutional Advancement and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
A native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Mr. Hills received his Master of Public Administration, summa cum laude, from the George Washington University and a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in Political Science at The University of Tampa.
