DIRECTOR OF GENERAL MEDICINE AT EMORY RECEIVES CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

William T. Branch, M.D., the Carter Smith Professor of Medicine and director of General Medicine at Emory University was given the highest national award from the Society of General Internal Medicine for Career Achievements in Medical Education at the society's national meeting in May.





In 1995, Dr. Branch was appointed as the director of the Division of General Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Vice Chairman for Primary Care. He serves as the Chief of InternalMedicine at Emory's Primary Care Center and is a member of the Executive Committee at Emory University Hospital.



He is also a faculty member of the American Academy of Physician and Patient, the leader for the Task Force on the Clinician-Educator for the Society of General Internal Medicine, and is a member of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation.
