Emory
University's Woodruff Health Sciences Center has selected December 6, 2006
as a day to recognize and show appreciation to our research community and
to raise awareness of the importance of medical research to the health of
our nation.
Throughout the day, displays on the Plaza Level of the Woodruff Health Sciences
Center Administration Building will illustrate groundbreaking research in
the Emory School of Medicine, Rollins School of Public Health, Nell Hodgson
Woodruff School of Nursing, and Yerkes National Primate Research Center.
Other displays will highlight clinical trials, technology transfer, research
safety and quality, and initiatives such as Vision 2012 and Predictive Health.
The Georgia Cancer Coalition and the Georgia Research Alliance will join
us with displays.
Tours of several laboratories will be offered in the morning and the afternoon
via sign-up on the Plaza Level of the WHSCAB.
Food and refreshments (including lunch) will be provided in the hospitality
tent accessible via the Plaza Level of the WHSCAB. T-shirts and other giveaway
items also will be available.
The culmination of Research Appreciation Day will be the Future Makers
lecture by Dr. William Brody, President of Johns Hopkins University. A reception
on the WHSCAB Plaza tent will follow Dr. Brody's talk. |
