Animal research necessary

The excellent article by Lillian Kim ("Of Mice....and Men," Winter 2001-2002) was a great explanation of the complex issue of animal research. I have done animal research in the past, and I really don't like to do it, but it has led to some of the more important findings I have made. Sometimes it's just necessary. This eloquently written article almost makes me wish I had a humanities degree.

Required reading

I have just read the current issue of Momentum -- it is terrific! I will use it in my class, Colloquium on Clinical Research, for students in the Masters of Science in Clinical Research Program. The articles on animal research and on the ethics of research will be helpful in our discussions of those topics. In addition, the profile of Claudia Adkison will be useful for introducing the session that she will give in the course. Great work!
